Head of the Food Safety Authority at the opening of the Second New Valley Agricultural Exhibition
Dr. Tariq Al-Houbi, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, participated this morning in the opening activities of the Second New Valley Agricultural Exhibition (EGY AGRI), which is hosted by the New Valley Governorate at the exhibition grounds in the city of Kharga during the period from 25 to 28 October of this year.
The opening was attended by Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, Alaa El-Din Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and Major General Dr. Muhammad Al-Zamlot. Governor of the New Valley, Dr. Abdel Fattah Siraj, Governor of Sohag, Dr. Hisham Abu Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza, Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, and Ambassador Lotfi Raouf, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Egypt, along with a number of deputy governors, ambassadors, representatives of concerned authorities, agricultural investment companies, and research centers.
The exhibition coincides with the season of Harvesting dates in the governorate, within the framework of supporting efforts to market Egyptian dates locally and internationally, and opening new horizons for New Valley products due to their high quality and abundant production. A number of palm growers and date factory owners from various governorates and a number of Arab countries are participating in the forum, through pavilions dedicated to displaying their products, in addition to organizing scientific seminars and discussion sessions with the participation of agriculture and food processing experts. To discuss ways to develop the sector and enhance its competitiveness.
