In a historic achievement… Saif Issa wins gold in the World Taekwondo Championship in China
In a historic achievement that has not been achieved since 1997, Olympic champion Saif Issa won the gold medal in the World Taekwondo Championship held in the Chinese city of Wuxi during the period from the 24th to the 30th of this month of October, after winning the final match over the Italian champion Simone Alessio with a score of 2-1.
Saif had started his career in the tournament by defeating the Côte d’Ivoire champion Medric Emmanuel. With a score of 2-0 in the round of 32, then it defeated the Turkish champion Orkun Atesli in the round of 16 with the same score 2-0, before defeating the champion of Uzbekistan Sokrat Saliv 2-1 in the quarter-finals, then achieved victory over the Polish champion Simon Piatkowski in the semi-finals with a score of 2-0
