Abu Raida reveals the details of the crisis of the second Egyptian national team, Dunga’s punishment, and the request to postpone the league matches

Engineer Hani Abu Raida, President of the Egyptian Football Association, spoke about the challenges facing Egypt’s second national team before the start of the Arab Cup, stressing at the same time the implementation of the penalty to suspend Zamalek player Nabil Imad “Dunga” In the Super match.

 

In press statements to the media center, Abu Raida stated that the second Egyptian team participating in the Arab Cup has a real crisis related to the Pyramids Club players, as they are scheduled to play two matches in the Premier League with their team against Petrojet and Kahraba Ismailia on the next 3 and 6 December.

The head of the Football Association added: “I contacted Ahmed Diab, President of the Professional Clubs Association, to resolve the crisis and postpone the two matches, to ensure the participation of all players in representing the national team.

Abu Raida stressed that the Football Association is primarily responsible for the results of the teams, stressing: “The Football Association is accountable for the results of the teams, so we will solve all the problems facing the technical staff.”

He revealed his refusal. To previous suggestions not to participate in the Arab Cup: “I rejected some people’s suggestions not to participate in the Arab Cup, as it is unreasonable for Egypt to be absent from this tournament on the pretext that we will not be able to prepare a strong team that will win the title, and so far Helmy Tolan, the team’s coach, has succeeded in preparing the players.”

With regard to the reward for qualifying the Egyptian team for the World Cup, Abu Raida referred to the offer of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi received a financial reward according to the Ministry’s regulations, but he explained his point of view: “The Minister of Youth and Sports graciously offered, in accordance with the Ministry’s rewards regulations, to reward the Egyptian national team after qualifying for the World Cup, and my point of view was to direct the rewards to the champions of other games, while the Football Association is responsible for disbursing rewards to its national teams.” 

Abu Raida denied the existence of any Disagreements with the Minister: “There are no disagreements between me and the Minister of Youth and Sports, and we received him in an official meeting a few days ago.”

Moving to the Egyptian football development file, Abu Raida stressed his extreme jealousy of Egyptian football, comparing what is happening to football federations in other countries: “The Football Association is the home of Egyptian football, and I am jealous of my country and I look at what is happening in the federations of other countries. And I have extreme jealousy.”

He revealed his conversation with the Minister of Youth and Sports about the necessity of establishing a sound infrastructure: “I spoke with the Minister about the necessity of having legal stadiums and providing places throughout Egypt to host talents and buds, and launching projects because academies exist for those who pay the most,” adding: “I informed the Minister of the necessity of establishing centers in all The governorates are provided that they establish stadiums and places to host talents.”

Regarding the Football Association’s plans to develop the national teams, the President of the Federation confirmed that there are ongoing programs to work on qualifying players and raising their level. There are other countries that have professionals who have been playing abroad for many years, which has made them develop technically, physically and psychologically, which is what the Football Association aspires to achieve in the coming period for the player. Regarding the Zamalek trio’s penalty crisis, Abu Raida confirmed his previous decision: “The Zamalek trio’s penalties will be implemented and Dunga will not play in the Super Cup. The former Football Association notified Zamalek’s administrator at the time by email, but officially the penalty was taken and Dunga will not be present in the Super Cup, finally resolving the controversy over the player’s participation in the tournament.
