100 competitors conclude the first stage of the “Baja Challenge” Abu Dhabi

The competitions of the first stage of the third season of the Baja Abu Dhabi Challenge 2025-2026, which was organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in cooperation with the Emirates Motorcycle and Motorcycle Organization, were concluded in Sweihan Hills in the Al Ain region, with the participation of more than 100 competitors from 31 countries, including more than 25 Emirati drivers, in an event that brought together professionals and amateurs from around the world.
The opening stage included 62 motorcycles, eight quads, eight cars, and 22 buggies, all of which competed on a desert sand track, more than 100 kilometers long, across five laps between the soft sand dunes in the Al Ain desert, presenting a unique experience that combined speed, skill, and endurance.
The results resulted in the brilliance of a number of champions, as Briton David Mapes and his navigator David McBride were crowned champions of the car category (T3) and first place in the overall standings, while Saudi Omar Al-Lahim and his navigator Muhammad Al-Muikail won the car category title (1T), and Emirati Atef Al Zarouni and his navigator Patrick McMurren achieved the top spot in the car category (T4).
Emirati Noura Al Jassasi and her navigator, Hamad Al Zarouni, also stood out with a strong performance in the same category, and in the professional buggy category, Russian Sergey Kyriakin won first place, followed in second place by Lithuanian Emilia Gelazinkini, and Emirati Mansour Al Suwaidi also stood out when he won in the quads category.
The second phase is scheduled to be held on December 13, with its details and registration dates to be announced soon.
