This linkage contributed to giving hospitals the opportunity to participate in enhancing the safety of patients’ medications by delivering means to reduce risks directly and effectively, making them at the forefront of health facilities committed to applying best practices in safe use. Enhancing the safety of using medicines
The project of electronic linkage to means of reducing risks (Risk Minimization Measures – RMMs) is one of the national initiatives launched by the Authority to enhance the safety of using high-risk medicines, through educational and guidance materials directed to health practitioners or patients, and aiming to reduce side effects.
The project aims to include additional risk-reducing methods within the electronic systems for dispensing medications in hospitals to ensure their application and enhance the safe use of pharmaceutical preparations, in addition to raising the level of health practitioners’ awareness of the risks associated with high-risk medications.
Physicians’ awareness of risk-reducing methods
The authority explained that the results The first three stages of project implementation, which were implemented during the period from 2023 to 2025, showed a noticeable improvement in doctors’ awareness of risk reduction methods, and contributed to facilitating access to them for patients and health practitioners.
