Health develops 1,004 primary care centers and units… and includes 1,500 in the urgent plan

The Ministry of Health and Population announced its achievements in implementing the second recommendation “Health Services” Among the recommendations of the second edition of the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development (2024), prior to the launch of the third edition “PHDC”25”.

The Ministry continues to publish reports on the implementation of the 11 recommendations in succession, through the Supreme Committee formed by the decision of the Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population No. 17 of 2025.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesman, explained that the axes of the recommendation The second was based on (developing primary care centers and raising the efficiency of medical teams, reducing newborn deaths and unjustified caesarean sections, monitoring child neurodevelopment and international educational partnerships, combating obesity, establishing stroke units and an African network for liver cancer, establishing a unified burn care system, expanding early detection, and raising awareness of non-communicable diseases towards comprehensive health coverage).

Abdul Ghaffar stressed: To achieve pioneering achievements in primary care, as 1,004 centers and units were developed, with 1,500 units included in the urgent plan of the national strategy, and the development of an automated system for routine vaccinations in partnership with the Ministry of Planning to track absentees, and work according to a digital system for controlling hazardous medical waste, in addition to digital transformation projects in public health laboratories (LDM), and the automation of licenses, and the establishment of an electronic system for insect and rodent control licenses to enhance transparency, as well as the development of the private electronic system. By insect surveillance.

"Abdul Ghaffar" added: 301 intensive training programs were provided in accordance with quality standards, with a total of 4,273 courses for 93,091 trainees in 2024-2025, in addition to issuing the first Egyptian guide for operating health care centers, accrediting 7 units and registering 63 with “GAHAR”.

While the achievements in the neonatal axis included; (Reducing neonatal deaths to 16 per thousand births and targeting a 25% reduction by the end of 2025, developing a training program for gynecologists on “birth planning” and “Robson Sheet” to reduce unnecessary caesarean sections, launching the “Newborn Care” initiative within the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Building Humans” to combat infection and reduce Deaths.

Abdul Ghaffar pointed to the launch of the national strategy to support natural birth and reduce cesarean section, in addition to requiring facilities to follow the “partogram” model and the “Robson” classification, and creating a supportive environment, governance, and digital integration between the government and private sectors, explaining the launch of the national midwifery strategy and the launch of the “Safe Start” campaign, which contributed to a significant increase in In natural births.

Abdul Ghaffar indicated that we will work according to a comprehensive plan for newborn care that includes (developing infrastructure and services, improving quality and safety, building capabilities, integrating clinical pharmacy, establishing mother- and child-friendly nurseries, advanced clinical governance, unifying protocols, using resources efficiently, and improving the patient experience towards safe and effective care with international standards), ensuring a qualitative shift towards comprehensive and sustainable health.
