13 individual and team sports in the fourth edition of the School Games Championship

The Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions announced the holding of the fourth edition of the School Games Championship during the period from January 7 to May 23, 2026, with the participation of public and private school students in 13 individual and team sports.
The tournament will be held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, and with the support and follow-up of Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Undersecretary for the Sports Development and Competitiveness Sector at the Ministry of Sports, President of the Emirates Sports Federation for School and University Education Institutions, and in cooperation between the Ministries of Sports and Education and a number of strategic partners.
Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi stressed that the tournament translates the directives of the wise leadership to establish sports as a human and cultural value, and to prepare a generation that enjoys health, fitness and skill, noting that school sports represent a major tributary to discovering national talents and creating champions capable of raising the UAE flag in international forums.
He added that the tournament, which achieved great success in its previous three editions, has established its position as a national platform for discovering student talents, praising the role of schools in supporting the national sports system as the first incubator for talents.
For his part, Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum explained that the fourth edition of the tournament will provide students with ideal opportunities to compete in 13 sports, including: football, swimming, athletics, judo, taekwondo, jujitsu, bow and arrow, fencing, badminton, laser shooting, table tennis, and chess, in addition to the inclusion of steeplechase racing for the first time.
He pointed out that the past three editions witnessed the participation of 17,224 male and female students, and resulted in the crowning of 1,928 champions and heroines, and the outstanding ones were included in the programs of the Emirates Committee for Nurturing Sports Talents.
