Al Wasl Club announces the dismissal of Portuguese coach Luis Castro

The Al Wasl Club Football Company stated that it had reached an agreement to terminate the contract by mutual consent with Portuguese coach Luis Castro, wishing him success in his next career.

This came after the end of the match between Al-Wasl and Bahrain’s Muharraq yesterday in the AFC Champions League 2.

Brazilian Adrillson da Silva scored a goal in the final minutes of the match, leading Al Wasl to a draw with Bahrain’s Al Muharraq, with two goals for each team, today, Wednesday, in the fourth round of the first group matches in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2 competition, raising Al Wasl’s score to 10 points at the top of the group, and Al Muharraq’s tally reaches seven points.

Al-Muharraq surprised Al-Wasl with an early goal in the second minute after Elliott passed a ball behind the “Emperor” defenders, so Juninho was alone with goalkeeper Muhammad Ali and shot the ball into the goal. Despite Al-Wasl’s control of the midfield, it did not pose a threat to goalkeeper Ibrahim Lutfullah, before Matthews Saldana got a penalty kick, and Nicolas Jimenez shot it into the goal, scoring the equalizer in the third minute of stoppage time.

In the same way, Al-Muharraq scored the second goal at the beginning of the second half through an individual effort by Elliot Simoes, who passed Sofiane Bouftini, dodged the goalkeeper and shot the ball into the goal (49), while Adrillson scored the second goal for Al-Wasl after following up on a cross played by Ali Saleh (84), so the match ended in a draw.
