Al-Abyad begins its preparations for the two matches against Iraq in the qualifying round for the World Cup

Yesterday, the first national football team launched its preparation program for the two-legged matches against its brother, the Iraqi national team, in the qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup finals. The first-leg match will be held on November 13 at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the capital, Abu Dhabi, while the return match will be held at the Basra International Stadium on the 18th of the same month.

Our team performed its first training at Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Nasr Club under the leadership of Romanian Cosmin Olario and his assistant staff, with the participation of the players who were included in the list, with the exception of a number of elements who participated with their clubs in foreign tournaments, and who are expected to join the camp tomorrow. Al-Abyad’s training will continue in Dubai for several days before moving to the capital, Abu Dhabi.
