المملكة: 1.9 million toxicology tests.. Riyadh tops the samples and Dammam in tests


The Ministry of Health’s report for the year 2024 revealed that the departments and units of Forensic toxicology services in the Kingdom, which number 17 centers, conducted approximately 1.96 million specialized tests during the past year.

The report indicated that this large volume of tests was conducted on a total of 503,363 samples that were received and processed in those units.

The statistics showed a clear superiority for the biological samples, which amounted to 364,165 samples, far exceeding the seized samples that 139,198 samples were recorded.

Leading Regions

At the region level, the Riyadh region topped the list as the region that sent the most samples to toxicology units, with a total of 121,067 samples.
And Tests carried out, Dammam had the largest share, recording 446,636 tests, ahead of Riyadh, which came second with 426,939 tests.
Makkah Al-Mukarramah came third with 237,462 tests, followed by Jeddah with 197,846 tests, then Medina came fifth with 149,838 tests.

As for the classification of biological samples specifically, the Riyadh region maintained the lead with 94,940 samples, followed by the Eastern Province with 54,493 samples, then Makkah Al-Mukarramah with 43,707 samples, and Jeddah fourth with 37,117 samples.
