"Agriculture" She denies the authenticity of the video of livestock deaths circulating on social media

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation confirmed that it is closely following the video circulating on some social media pages, which its publishers claim documents cases of death of livestock on an Egyptian farm as a result of foot-and-mouth disease.

The Ministry denied in its entirety the validity of this claim, and explained that this video is fake and falsely attributed to a farm in Egypt, noting that upon follow-up and investigation, it has become clear that the video circulating is of cases of death on a farm in the state of Pakistan. Sister,  There was a case of mass poisoning on the farm, as a result of their floods and natural disasters, which caused the presence of some toxic substances mixed with feed and water, and it has nothing to do with livestock or the health status of livestock within the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The Ministry confirmed that this video was published on the YouTube platform a long time ago, and is currently being republished, pointing out that by following up you may also notice some accounts on social networking sites publishing some videos about foot-and-mouth disease infections, dating back to the years 2012 and 2022, with the aim of causing confusion and panic among citizens.

The Ministry of Agriculture reassures citizens and breeders that the epidemiological situation of livestock in Egypt is safe and reassuring, thanks to the efforts of the Egyptian state and its preventive and proactive plans, as national campaigns are being implemented to vaccinate against epidemic diseases, most notably foot-and-mouth disease and Rift Valley fever, with three comprehensive periodic campaigns throughout the year, with the aim of protecting livestock, raising immunity and increasing production, and the fixed and mobile veterinary committees also continue to implement the national campaign. The expansion is currently underway in all villages and governorates, within the framework of the Ministry’s plan to secure livestock.

The Ministry confirmed the availability of approved local serums and vaccines, which are produced with the highest levels of effectiveness, quality and efficiency, and with very high coverage rates to ensure comprehensive immunization.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation reiterated that the meat put on the market is completely safe and does not pose any danger to the health of citizens, provided that it is from a reliable source and slaughtered within Certified official slaughterhouses that are subject to full veterinary inspection before and after slaughter.

The Ministry calls on all breeders and livestock owners to cooperate fully and immediately with veterinary vaccination committees, and to submit their animals to receive the necessary vaccines, as vaccination is of the utmost importance in preserving their herds as a first line of defense.

The Ministry of Agriculture also calls on all citizens and social media users to investigate accuracy and credibility before circulating any information or video clips, and to refer to reliable official sources at the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Services Authority. Veterinary services, and do not be led by rumors that aim to create confusion and harm food and economic security.
