Manchester United coach Amorim regrets missing out on victory against Tottenham

Portuguese Ruben Amorim, coach of Manchester United, seemed frustrated after the 2-2 draw against host Tottenham Hotspur, on Saturday evening, in the English Premier League.
Amorim said on TNT Sports after the match, “During the match, we felt that victory and the three match points were within our reach, but after everything that happened, and having to replace Harry Maguire and Casemiro, and conceding two goals, we succeeded in scoring again, and came away with a point.”
He added, “When we do not win, we must not lose, and this is what we achieved again. We can improve a lot on the collective level, because today was our day to win this match.”
He continued, “We must review ourselves. We lacked forceful pressure with a feeling of relaxation, and we must realize that if we are courageous, we will be able to decide the match.”
The Portuguese coach added, “But it is possible that the performance may fluctuate, and the first half will be better than the second, but we believe in our ability to score goals until the last minute.”
Amorim praised the team’s goalkeeper, Sean Lammens, saying, “He is performing outstandingly, and realizes that football is full of variables, but he must overcome anything and focus with every new match.”
Robin Amorim concluded, “I feel a little disappointed, but I am also proud of the players’ reaction after Tottenham’s second goal. We are on a long road to becoming a strong team. We are at the beginning, and we have a lot to do.”
