Trump is destroying not only the White House but the entire nation

Former US President Joe Biden launched a scathing attack on his successor, President Donald Trump, saying that the current president not only took a “wrecking ball” to the East Wing of the White House, but also to American democracy.

CNN quoted Biden as saying while attending a Democratic Party party in Nebraska on Friday evening in Omaha: “I knew that Trump would take a wrecking ball to the country, but I did not know, I must admit, that there was actually a real wrecking ball.”

Biden was referring to Trump’s demolition of part of the White House, which he plans to turn into a celebration hall. Trump had previously stated that his plans to build the hall “will not affect the existing building.”

“It’s a perfect symbol of his presidency,” Biden said. “Trump has taken a wrecking ball not just to the people’s house, but to the Constitution, to the rule of law, and to our very democracy.”

During his speech, Biden addressed Trump directly, saying that the current president brought shame to the country with his behavior, and put the interests of the wealthy above the interests of ordinary Americans.

Biden described the Democratic victories in the New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial elections, and the New York mayoral elections last week, as “bright spots in a very dark moment,” according to media reports, adding that the American people sent a message to Trump through these results.
