The Central Youth and Sports Operations Room follows up on the conduct of parliamentary elections in the governorates

 The central operations room of the Ministry of Youth and Sports continues to follow up on the progress of the electoral process, with the sub-operations rooms spread across the youth and sports directorates in the governorates, to ensure the regularity of the electoral process and provide all aspects of support.

The Ministry stated – in a statement today, Tuesday – that it was keen, through the national campaign “Share… the word is yours.” Which was implemented through the Central Administration for Civic Education, the General Administration of the Vanguard and Youth Parliament, to encourage young people to participate in the electoral process through various means, including universities, youth centers, and public transportation, ensuring that awareness messages reach the largest number of young people in the various governorates by following up on periodic reports from field follow-up teams deployed in youth centers and youth bodies in 14 governorates in the first phase of the parliamentary elections in North, Central, and South Upper Egypt and West Delta (Giza – Fayoum – New Valley – Beni Suef – Minya – Assiut – Sohag – Qena – Luxor – Aswan – Red Sea – Alexandria – Beheira – Matrouh).

 

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, said that the Ministry pays great attention to spreading the culture of political participation among young people and enabling them to exercise their constitutional rights, noting that casting the electoral vote is a national duty that reflects the free will of the Egyptian people, and embodies the values of belonging and citizenship. These efforts come in implementation of the directives of the political leadership on the necessity of raising awareness among young people and promoting the concepts of community participation and positive citizenship, stressing that young people are the basic foundation in building the future of the nation and consolidating the foundations of the new republic.

 

Diverse youth teams are participating in the follow-up work, including members of the Youth Parliament and Vanguards, the Senate Simulation Model, the “Youth Managing Youth” initiative, and the Federation "with its youth", who play a pivotal role in helping voters, organizing entry and exit movement, and supporting the elderly and people of determination inside electoral headquarters, in addition to implementing door-knocking campaigns to encourage citizens to vote.

 

During the day, there is continuous communication with the sub-operations rooms spread across the youth and sports directorates in the governorates of the first phase mentioned previously, to ensure the regularity of the electoral process and provide the necessary logistical support.
