King Abdulaziz University’s pavilion at the Hajj and Umrah Exhibition and Conference, in its fifth edition today, witnessed a remarkable presence of visitors and those interested in the research and innovation sectors in the Kingdom.Guests of God, where the university reviewed, through its participating pavilion, the latest research, innovative and technical projects developed by its students and faculty members, with the aim of improving the experience of the pilgrim, pilgrim and visitor.

Dean of the College of Tourism for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Theeb Al-Harithi, confirmed that the university is proud to participate as a knowledge partner in the conference, noting that King Abdulaziz University harnesses its human, research, educational, training and advisory capabilities to serve the Hajj system. And Umrah.

He added: "Today we participate through the pavilion with a number of Projects and research that support the development and improvement of the experience of visitors, pilgrims and pilgrims, and include multiple fields such as technology, architecture, field experiments, and innovation in crowd management and services.”

Dr. Al-Harithi explained that the participating parties within the university’s pavilion range from the Institute of Research and Consultations, the Center for the Promotion of Studies, the College of Architecture, the College of Computers, Student Affairs, Scouting Teams, and the College of Tourism, adding: "We are all proud and happy to be part of this blessed event, and of the system of continuous development to serve the guests of God.”

Smart technologies

Among the projects that attracted the attention of visitors was the project of student Munira Abed Al-Alawi, a master’s student in Hajj and Umrah Services Management at the College of Tourism, which came under the title "The effectiveness of smart technologies in reducing medical response time.”
The project aims to study the role of smart technologies in supporting the health system during the Hajj season, by developing a smart health bracelet that links the pilgrim’s vital data to an integrated health application, which contributes to accelerating the response to emergency cases and improving the quality of medical services provided.

The student Al-Alawi confirmed that the project is based on a clear national vision that places the health and safety of pilgrims and pilgrims at the forefront of priorities, noting that the smart bracelet can represent a qualitative shift in Improving the speed of communication between field teams and health facilities during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.

The university’s pavilion stands out as a knowledge station that combines academic innovation and field practice, which reflects the role of King Abdulaziz University in transforming scientific research into practical solutions that serve the Hajj and Umrah system and keep pace with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing services provided to the guests of God.
