His Highness expressed his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, for his generous hospitality, and to Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the State of Kuwait, for the warm reception, and for the efforts made during the period of the State of Kuwait’s presidency of the current session of the Council, praising His Highness for the efforts made by the Secretary-General. His Highness touched on the challenges facing the security services in the Council countries, including organized crime, drug smuggling, extremism and terrorism, and the misuse of technology and artificial intelligence, and their exploitation by criminal, terrorist and extremist organizations to threaten security and stability.

He stressed the necessity of creating an integrated security system to confront the rapid development of these crimes, and to work with specialized centers to conduct forward-looking studies of the threats. Future security, and preparing to confront it by enhancing human capabilities and community awareness.

After The Interior Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries discussed the topics on the agenda that would contribute to strengthening the process of joint security cooperation among the GCC countries.

After the meeting, the winners of the Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Award for Security Research of the Gulf Cooperation Council were honored.

The official delegation accompanying His Highness the Minister of Interior includes His Highness Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the State of Kuwait, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Khalid bin Mohammed. Al-Battal, the Director of Public Security, Lieutenant General Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Bassami, the Director of Narcotics Control, Major General Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Qarni, the Director General of the Minister’s Office for Studies and Research, Major General Khaled bin Ibrahim Al-Arwan, the Director-General of Passports in charge, Major General Saleh bin Saad Al-Murabba’, and the Director-General of Legal Affairs and International Cooperation, Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Issa.
