Dubai Airports and 30 partners are organizing a demonstration of sustainable aircraft operation next Monday

Dubai, November 13 / WAM / Dubai Airports, in cooperation with dnata, flydubai and more than 30 partners, announced the organization of the first edition of the sustainable aircraft operation display on the grounds of the Dubai Airshow 2025 at Dubai World Central Airport during the period from 17 to 21 November this year.

This year’s edition of the Dubai Air Show will be launched under the slogan “The Future Starts Here”, to be the largest in the history of the event and the most focused on innovation, seeking to chart new horizons for the aviation, space and defense sectors.

The exhibition reflects the UAE’s leading position in the fields of sustainability and excellence in the aviation sector, making it the ideal platform to launch the Sustainable Aircraft Operation Show, the first initiative of its kind that attracts the most prominent players in the aviation sector to review the practical developments achieved, and push the wheel of joint action towards a more sustainable future for this vital sector.

Thanks to its global presence, the exhibition allows the initiative’s main partners, namely Dubai Airports, dnata and Flydubai, to reveal their innovative idea for equipping and operating an aircraft within a completely sustainable process, based on the latest technologies and embodying a joint commitment to climate action.

This inaugural presentation is considered a turning point in the sustainability process in the aviation sector, as it highlights the importance of the combined efforts of various stakeholders in the sector to address the most prominent challenges and obstacles, and reach qualitative solutions that redraw its horizons towards a more sustainable future.

More than 30 partners from a number of leading entities are participating in the event, including Airbus, Bee’ah, Cobos, dnata, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Etihad Energy Services Company, Flydubai, Katmerseller and Rosenbauer.

This cooperation aims to establish unprecedented standards in handling and equipping aircraft with the highest standards of speed, safety and sustainability, with a focus on the role of data-based management, optimal use of energy, and adopting the latest advanced ground handling equipment.

The display includes two main areas, the first dedicated to receiving visitors under the title “Reducing Emissions at Airports and the Future of Aviation,” and the second area is a fixed display area that includes a working Flydubai aircraft, divided into six main themes: sustainable operation, electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered mechanisms, biofuels, energy management, and the circular economy.

These areas offer more than 40 pieces of the latest sustainable ground handling equipment and technologies, including solar energy systems, cooling and air quality improvement solutions, electric baggage carts, hydrogen-powered buses and vehicles, solar waste management solutions, sustainable recycling solutions and other innovations.

Most of these technologies are available in the local market, which enhances the role of Dubai Airports in linking various stakeholders in the aviation sector and accelerating the pace of transformation towards sustainability. Dubai Airports continues its efforts to adopt technologies and policies that aim to reduce carbon emissions by strengthening its partnerships with the innovators of these solutions, especially Airbus, Flydubai, Lootah Biofuels Company, Elysian Aircraft, and others.

Demonstrating the sustainable operation of aircraft plays a pivotal role in enabling the aviation sector to manage its operations in cleaner, smarter and more sustainable ways, especially in light of expectations that global air traffic will double by 2045.
