المملكة: Speakers of the Gulf legislative councils praise the Kingdom’s efforts to achieve peace

This came in the final statement issued by the 19th periodic meeting of the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the capital, Manama, on Thursday, with the participation of the Kingdom’s delegation headed by the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.

The efforts of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee

The heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation Councils appreciated the efforts of the Ministerial Committee headed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was formed by the extraordinary joint Arab and Islamic summit to work to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and rebuild Gaza.
They stressed the importance of the continuation of the Arab Ministerial Committee concerned with supporting the State of Palestine, headed by the Kingdom of Bahrain, In performing its duties, and continuing its movement at the international level to support the efforts of the State of Palestine in obtaining more international recognition.

In their final statement, the heads of the legislative councils congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – and the Saudi people on the occasion of the Kingdom’s victory in hosting the World Cup. 2034.

The attendees welcomed the contents of the 29th joint ministerial meeting between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union, with the participation of the heads of the Gulf legislative councils and the President of the European Parliament, stressing the importance of continuing constructive parliamentary dialogue, in a way that enhances institutional cooperation and the exchange of parliamentary experiences, serves common interests and contributes to the consolidation of Gulf-European relations.

The Gulf Digital Economy

The heads of the councils agreed to choose a title. "The Gulf digital economy: legislation, developing technical infrastructure, enhancing the contribution to the local product, stimulating investments, and enhancing the safety of the Gulf community on digital platforms." As a topic for the joint Gulf symposium in 2026, which will be organized and hosted by the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The presidents approved the two cooperation mechanisms between the Gulf legislative councils and the European Parliament, as well as with the parliaments of Latin American and Caribbean countries, and adopted a mechanism for implementing the strategy to increase the momentum of Gulf parliamentary cooperation at several levels.

Organization and preparation efforts

The presidents expressed their thanks and gratitude to the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain. The government and people for organizing this meeting, as well as the Shura Council and the House of Representatives, appreciating the efforts in organizing and preparing well for this meeting, wishing success to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and continuing to deepen the paths of parliamentary cooperation and coordination, in order to achieve more successes in the process of Gulf parliamentary work.
