Etihad Airways records record profits of 1.7 billion dirhams in 9 months

Abu Dhabi, 14 November / WAM / Etihad Airways announced today that it will continue its record performance during the first nine months of 2025, achieving the strongest operational and financial results in its history during this period, as it recorded profits after tax amounting to 1.7 billion dirhams ($463 million) during the first nine months of 2025, an increase of 26% on an annual basis, bringing the profit margin to 8% compared to 7% for the same period of the year. 2024.

Total revenues witnessed a significant growth of 18% on an annual basis, amounting to 21.7 billion dirhams ($5.9 billion), thanks to the strong performance in the passenger and cargo sectors, where passenger revenues grew by 20% to reach 18.2 billion dirhams ($4.9 billion), reflecting the increase in operational capacity and the expansion of the network of destinations, while freight revenues increased by 8% to reach 3.2 billion dirhams ($875 million), driven by improved operational capacity. The volume of freight transported grew by 6% on an annual basis.

EBITDA increased by 27% year-on-year to reach 4.3 billion dirhams ($1.2 billion), with profit margin improving by 20% (+1 percentage point year-on-year). The company also continued to generate strong cash flows, as operating cash flow reached about 6 billion dirhams (more than $1.5 billion), an increase of more than 40% year-on-year.

Etihad Airways carried 16.1 million passengers during the first nine months of 2025, the highest number of passengers in the company’s history, achieving growth of 18% year-on-year, supported by an increase in operating capacity by 17% and an improvement in passenger load factor to 88% (+1 percentage point year-on-year).

Antonaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said that Etihad Airways’ performance this year constitutes a new standard in the aviation sector, as it exceeded market growth rates and contributed nearly half of the total growth in passenger traffic in the UAE. This performance confirms the success of its strategy, the strength of its work teams, and the attractiveness of Abu Dhabi as a world-class destination.

The number of aircraft in Etihad Airways’ operational fleet reached 115 aircraft at the end of September 2025, an increase of 19 aircraft year-on-year, in one of the most active delivery periods in the company’s history.

During the third quarter of the year, nine new aircraft joined the fleet, including the first Airbus A321LR aircraft in July, followed by two additional aircraft of the same model, three Boeing 787 aircraft, two Airbus A350 aircraft, and an A320 aircraft, which contributed to increasing the available seat capacity per kilometer by more than 20% on an annual basis during the third quarter of the year.

In early July, the company achieved a historic achievement by transporting more than 20 million passengers within a 12-month period, for the first time in its history.

On August 1, 2025, the new Airbus A321LR fleet entered service with the inaugural flight to Phuket.

The company operates about 300 passenger flights daily, while the network includes more than 100 destinations, 91 of which were operated as of September 30. During the third quarter of this year, Etihad launched its inaugural flights to Atlanta and El Alamein, and also announced new destinations including Salalah, Kazan, and Krakow, strengthening its presence in the Middle East, Europe and Central Asia.

In Europe alone, Etihad added more than 500,000 seats during 2025, confirming its role in supporting the growth of tourism to Abu Dhabi.

Thus, Etihad Airways has launched or announced 31 new destinations over the past twelve months, confirming its commitment to making Abu Dhabi one of the most connected and connected cities in the world.

The company attracted more than 2,600 new employees during the first nine months of 2025, including more than 200 pilots and about 1,500 cabin crew members, and more than 1,500 employees were promoted during the same period.
