Signing a strategic cooperation agreement between two Egyptian and German companies to localize the pharmaceutical industry

 

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between two national and German companies, to localize the pharmaceutical industry in the field of women’s health and reproductive health.

This came on the sidelines of the third edition of the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC’25), sponsored by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, under the slogan “Empowering Individuals, Promoting Progress, Providing Opportunities,” during The period from November 12 to 15, 2025.

The Minister stressed that the agreement is a pivotal step to enhance pharmaceutical security, provide high-tech medicines, and transfer expertise, pointing to Egypt’s position as a regional center for industry and export, with the support of the President’s directives to attract global investments.

He explained that technology transfer is a basic pillar, with confidence in the capabilities of national and international companies, to develop the Egyptian industrial infrastructure.

Dr. Wafiq Al-Bardisi, President of the National Company, stressed that the partnership enhances Localization of the industry, expansion of exports to regional and African markets, and support of the national health policy.

Dr. Klaus Runge, Vice President of the international company, pointed out Egypt’s strategic importance in the supply chain, stressing that the partnership supports self-sufficiency, localization of essential medicines, and building a sustainable health system.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health, Dr. Hisham Steit, Chairman of the Egyptian Unified Purchasing Authority, and Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawi, Chairman of the Medicines Authority. Egyptian.
