Mansour bin Mohammed attends the conclusion of the second edition of the Dubai Premier Padel P1 Championship

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, attended the conclusion of the second edition of the “Dubai Premier Paddle P1” tournament at the Hamdan Sports Complex, in which international athletes participated amid a large crowd.
After a week of intense competition in high-level matches that witnessed an unprecedented crowd attendance, Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coelho won the men’s title, while Claudia Fernandez and Pia Gonzalez won the women’s title.
The finals witnessed matches of intense competition and enthusiasm, with a large crowd of 7,562 fans attending at the Hamdan Sports Complex.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum handed over the cups to the champions, accompanied by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Padel Federation. This tournament was organized by Gallup Global in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, the Department of Economy and Tourism, and the Emirates Padel Tennis Federation.
This year’s tournament witnessed a radical transformation in the complex, as the 10-lane Olympic indoor pool was completely transformed into a padel court with a capacity of 8,000 spectators, making it the largest indoor padel court in the Middle East and North Africa region. The stadium, in its new form, included four professional fields, and its capacity was increased to receive a larger number of fans.
Ivan Modia, CEO of Gallup Global and Director of the Dubai Premier Padel P1 Championship, said that the tournament has risen to an unprecedented level this year, which was evident in the crowded halls and tremendous public enthusiasm. Transforming the Hamdan Sports Complex into the largest indoor padel court in the Middle East and North Africa region represents evidence of the potential of the Emirate of Dubai when ambition meets innovation.
This year’s tournament brought together leading international talents from various Premier Paddle tournaments, reflecting the rapid global spread of this sport and Dubai’s position as an exceptional destination for international sporting events.
After the resounding success achieved by the Dubai Premier Paddle Championship P1 this year, the tournament is scheduled to return next year to continue to play its influential role as a leading event in the Middle East and a main stop in the World Premier Paddle Championship.
