The next five years are crucial in the process of creating the future

Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Jamal bin Huwaireb, stressed that the UAE represents an advanced model in building a knowledge economy, supported by pioneering policies and a vision based on investing in people, considering that knowledge is “the most useful energy for developing and advancing nations.”
He said that the next five years will be decisive in the process of creating the future, with the need to invest in people and creative minds as they are the most sustainable resource.
This came during the first day of the activities of the Knowledge Summit 2025 in its tenth edition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” at the Dubai World Trade Center.
International platform
Bin Huwaireb stressed that, over a decade, the event has become a leading international platform for exchanging knowledge and creating the future, under the umbrella of the vision of the wise leadership.
Creative minds
He explained that the summit, since its inception ten years ago, has succeeded in establishing its presence as an annual forum for creative minds, experts and decision-makers, noting that in its past nine sessions it has hosted more than 900 international speakers and organized more than 1,000 sessions, while the number of followers on digital platforms has exceeded two million accumulated views.
Reports and indicators
He added that the reports, indicators and knowledge projects produced annually by the Summit have become an approved reference for many international institutions, especially the Global Knowledge Index, which has strengthened countries’ efforts in building more prepared and sustainable societies.
Knowledge markets
He stated that the summit this year comes under the slogan “Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Societies,” focusing on transforming knowledge into economic and creative value capable of supporting a sustainable economy, promoting innovation, and employing data and scientific research in the service of development.
The principle of justice
He pointed out that this year’s edition gives priority to consolidating the principle of justice in access to knowledge as a basic right and a driver of development, in addition to strengthening dialogue between governments, academics, entrepreneurs and civil society, with the aim of formulating policies capable of keeping pace with rapid global transformations, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies.
Constant change
Bin Huwaireb stressed the importance of continuous change and not relying on the past, saying: “Whoever does not change, circumstances will change and he will retreat, and whoever does not develop will not be awaited by the world’s express train.”
