Shikabala praises Morocco and reassures the fans: I have full confidence in the national team and Hossam Hassan

Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala”, the former Zamalek star, expressed his great happiness at attending the Confederation of African Football’s ceremony to distribute the Best in Africa Awards for the year 2025, which is being held in the Moroccan capital, Rabat.

Shikabala, in his statements to the “BeIN Sports” channel, confirmed his happiness at participating in this prominent continental event, saying: “My presence at the CAF Awards ceremony It is something special, as it is one of the most important events that celebrate the continent’s stars and its football history.”

The former Zamalek captain spoke about the Best Player in Africa award, noting that Mohamed Salah won the award twice, while Achraf Hakimi had never won it before, and added: “I feel that Hakimi will be the closest to winning this year.”

Shikabala praised the great development witnessed by Moroccan football, stressing that what has been achieved is a model to be emulated. On the continent level: “Morocco is now on a completely different level. They have a youth team that won the World Cup, and a junior team that reached the quarter-finals. What has been achieved here represents pride for African and Arab football.”

He also announced his intention to remain in Morocco to support the Egyptian national team during its upcoming participation in the African Cup of Nations, stressing: “I will remain here to support the Egyptian national team in this difficult stage.”

He concluded his statements by sending a message to the Egyptian fans, saying: “I know that the fans are not satisfied with the national team’s performance in the last friendlies, but I have complete confidence in Hossam Hassan.” And the national team players, I expect them to give their best in the tournament."
