Liverpool suffered a severe defeat at its home stadium, Anfield. With three unanswered goals against its guest, Nottingham Forest, in the twelfth round of the English Premier League for the 2025 season – 2026.
Murilo put the visitors in front in the 33rd minute, before Nicolo Savona doubled the lead at the start of the second half in the 46th minute, while Morgan Gibbs-White completed the hat-trick in the 78th minute, after an organized team performance and effective offensive moves by Forest, who took advantage of the lack of positioning of the Reds’ defence.
On the other hand, Liverpool appeared completely out of their league, as the offensive threat was absent throughout the match, and the team failed to create chances. A real threat to the visitors’ goal, despite controlling periods of the match ineffectively.
The defeat caused Liverpool, the “defending champion”, to decline.
