Strengthening cooperation between "Food safety" and"JICA" To support small and medium food enterprises

Dr. Tariq Al-Houbi, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, received today Masami Koma, a consultant at the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In Egypt, in the presence of Ahmed Al-Kanani from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency.

 

During the meeting, attendees discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to support medium, small and micro enterprises in the food and agricultural industries sector, especially in the areas of raising technical capabilities, applying food safety systems, and developing good manufacturing practices, which contributes to improving the quality of products and enhancing their ability to comply with standards.

 

Dr. Tariq Al-Houbi stressed that the Authority pays great attention to developing the capabilities of medium, small and micro enterprises within the food safety system, noting the importance of integrating efforts with JICA and the Enterprise Development Agency to support training and development programs and improve food safety management systems in the food and agricultural industries sectors.

 

For his part, Masami Kuma expressed JICA’s readiness to provide more support. Technical and international expertise to enhance the capabilities of workers in the productive sectors, and raise the efficiency of food supply chains, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the Egyptian product and opens new export horizons for it.

 

Ahmed Al-Kanani also stressed the keenness of the Enterprise Development Authority to enhance cooperation with the Authority and JICA, to support small and medium enterprises through technical and financial development programs that help them improve the safety and quality of their products and increase their capacity. Competitiveness.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint coordination and develop an executive work plan to support technical and supervisory development projects, which contributes to strengthening the food safety system and achieving sustainable development goals.
