Serbia awards Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi the “Jakov Nenadovic Star” in recognition of his contributions to supporting global security.

The Republic of Serbia awarded Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi, President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the Jakov Nenadovic Star, which is the highest security decoration awarded by the Serbian Ministry of the Interior.
Ivica Dacic, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia, President of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), was awarded the medal during a special ceremony held on the sidelines of the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly, which Marrakesh will host from November 24 to 27.
The medal is considered one of the highest national honors in Serbia, and is awarded in recognition of global leaders for their distinguished efforts in strengthening international security, encouraging cooperation with Serbian law enforcement agencies, and confronting organized crime.
The Serbian Ministry of the Interior confirmed that this honor reflects Serbia’s deep appreciation for the leadership of Major General Al-Raisi in his capacity as President of Interpol, the largest international police organization in the world, which includes 196 member states and has a history extending more than 100 years in strengthening collective security and international cooperation.
During the ceremony, Dacic praised Dr. Al-Raisi’s commitment to strengthening relations between Interpol and Serbia, and his support for initiatives aimed at strengthening global cooperation in the field of law enforcement in the face of changing security challenges.
For his part, Major General Al-Raisi expressed, during his meeting with Dacic, his deep appreciation for this honor, noting that the “Jakov Nenadovic Star” is not just a personal honor, but rather an international recognition of the role played by Interpol as a platform for global security cooperation and joint action to combat crime.
He described the honor as an additional incentive for Interpol to deepen its partnerships and strengthen bridges of cooperation with member states around the world.
