Furjan Dubai announces the start of the winter training season for Al Furjan Football Club

Al Furjan Dubai Foundation announced the launch of the winter season of Al Furjan Football Club training for age groups from 2010 to 2020, sponsored by the Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Municipality.

The training, which was recently launched, will continue until the end of next May, when it will be held in six major parks in Dubai in cooperation with Dubai Municipality, which are: Oud Al Muteena Park, Al Warqa Park 3, Rose Garden Band Al Sheba 4, Al Barsha Lake Park, Al Barsha Park South, and Al Mizhar Park 2.

The training includes three age groups: the junior category includes those born in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, while the cubs category includes those born in 2014, 2015 and 2016, while the junior category includes those born in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. Training takes place four days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The Furjan Dubai Foundation confirmed that the large demand from families to involve their children in the club’s training reflects their confidence in the societal and sporting role of the Foundation, and its endeavor to provide a stimulating environment within residential neighborhoods that allows children and young people to practice sports within a professional framework that includes all ages, as the number of players who have joined the academy so far has reached 527 players, which reflects the increasing interest of families in community sports and its role in developing the personality of children.

The current training sessions have focused on enhancing positive behaviors among players, such as respecting teammates, accepting referees’ decisions, and showing sportsmanship, in addition to instilling societal values, which contributes to supporting the role of the family in education and building a balanced personality athletically and morally.

The academy also supports talented players to reach major clubs in the country, as recently a group of players joined clubs in the Emirate of Dubai after their excellence in performance and commitment.

Sports and moral upbringing
For her part, Alia Al Shamlan, Director of Furjan Dubai, confirmed that the launch of the winter training season for Al Furjan Football Club comes within the organization’s vision aimed at enabling young people to practice sports in a safe and integrated environment within their residential areas, noting that this initiative translates the directions of the Emirate of Dubai aimed at enhancing the quality of community life and stimulating physical activity.

She said that cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Municipality contributes to expanding the base of sports practitioners from different age groups, in addition to supporting young talents and qualifying them according to professional training programs that will provide them with opportunities to join local clubs in the future.

She added that Al Furjan Club is not limited to the sports aspect only, but rather constitutes a space for social interaction and instilling positive values ​​in the hearts of children and youth, thus enhancing the role of Al Furjan Dubai in building a cohesive society that shares team spirit, belonging and responsibility.

Logistical support
For his part, Badr Anwahi, Executive Director of the Public Utilities Corporation in Dubai Municipality, said: “Our cooperation with the Dubai Furjan Foundation in organizing Al Furjan Club training within public parks in various regions of the emirate represents a qualitative addition, as this community partnership allows children and youth to practice sports in a safe, equipped and integrated environment with international standards, and enhances the exploitation of public facilities for development and sports purposes.”

Supporting community sports programs
In turn, Fawzia Faridoon, Director of the Community Sports Department at the Dubai Sports Council, said: “We at the Dubai Sports Council are proud to sponsor such pioneering initiatives that enhance the participation of youth and children in sports activities within their neighborhoods, as Al Furjan Club represents a living model for providing a safe and stimulating environment for practicing sports, in keeping with Dubai’s vision of encouraging physical fitness and community activity.”

She added: “Investing in young people through organized training programs contributes to developing their sports and social skills alike, and helps hone talents and discover talented players to represent clubs and national teams in various local and international tournaments.”
