Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence hosts the fourth edition of "Mills initiative"

ABU DHABI, 25 November / WAM / The Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, hosted the fourth edition of its community initiative “MILES”, under the slogan: “The Art of Intelligence and Human Creativity.”
Held on the university’s Masdar City campus, the session addressed the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and the arts, highlighting the transformative role that artificial intelligence plays in music, visual arts and creative expression.
The session came within the “Rawaq Al-Thikr” initiative of the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, which is a dedicated series of talks and lectures that hosts prominent artists and thinkers.
Her Excellency Hoda Ibrahim Al Khamis, founder of the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts, said that the group is working within the framework of a strategic partnership with the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, to enhance the role of artificial intelligence in preserving cultural heritage and doubling its value through digitization, archiving, and huge databases, and providing interactive experiences for millions in all languages.
She added that the group seeks, along with the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, to empower the Emirati youth generation, invest in developing their sustainable skills, and enhance their knowledge, with the participation of international experts, resident artists, scientists, and thought leaders in the cultural and creative sectors and artificial intelligence, and contributes to the Abu Dhabi Culture and Arts Group’s series of dialogues, “Rawaq Al-Fikr,” which highlights the future of cultural and creative industries and the importance of artificial intelligence, in empowering and developing the arts and sustaining knowledge mobility and innovation.
For her part, Rawda Al Muraikhi, Director of the Communications Department at Mohammed bin Zayed University for Artificial Intelligence, said that the university is working to stimulate a constructive dialogue about how to benefit from modern technologies in supporting artists and creators, adding to their work and expanding their options, instead of limiting their presence or creative role.
The event witnessed a dialogue session entitled “Artificial Intelligence and Human Creativity”, moderated by Dr. Gus Sha, Assistant Professor in the University’s Machine Learning Department and founder of the “Music
The speakers discussed the creative potential of artificial intelligence in the fields of cinema, music composition and design, and how technology expands the horizons of artistic imagination.
The program included a musical performance entitled “Artificial Intelligence and the Piano” presented by Dr. Sha, in which he reviewed a live interaction between human performance and artificial intelligence-generated musical accompaniment, followed by a presentation of Emirati creations that highlighted local talent and their ability to merge culture with innovation.
The event concluded with an interactive session that allowed attendees to ask questions and discuss ways to employ artificial intelligence to enrich the arts and contribute to shaping the future of the creative economy in the UAE.
