Endowments: Militant attacks on "State of recitation" It reveals their loss of tasting the beauty of the Qur’an

The Egyptian Ministry of Endowments confirmed on its official page that the attacks launched by some extremist movements on the “State of Recitation” program It reflects a deeper crisis related to the absence of spiritual taste and the inability to savor the beauty of the Holy Qur’an, explaining that religious extremism arises when feeling dries up and worship turns into a system of rigid orders without love or spirit.

The ministry said that the phenomenon is not a jurisprudential dispute as some think, but rather a spiritual dryness that causes extremists to deal with religion as “automatic laws.” Instead of "divine lights". She pointed out that this approach contradicts the legal principle that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, established when he said: “God is beautiful and loves beauty,” which makes beauty a religious religious value that should be taken into account in behavior and worship.

The Endowments explained that their rejection of the arts of recitation in the “State of Recitation” program It reveals an inability to appreciate the fine Quranic art that was established by the Sunnah of the Prophet and upon which readers have unanimously agreed upon over the centuries. The Ministry confirmed that the legitimate singing of the Qur’an is proven by authentic hadiths, including the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: “Adorn the Qur’an with your voices,” and his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: “God has not authorized anything. He has given permission to a prophet with a good voice to sing the Qur’an,” noting that the great scholars, including Ibn Hajar, Al-Asqalani—they affirmed that improving the voice with the Qur’an is a sign of complete contemplation and reverence as long as it is regulated by the provisions of performance.

The Ministry added that the position of the extremists regarding beauty does not stop at recitation, but rather extends to rejecting Islamic antiquities, architecture, and heritage, in clear disregard for the Qur’an’s command to reflect on the history of nations and the laws of civilizations. She pointed out that this blindness of taste is essentially equivalent to the materialism to which extremists fall, as both of them strip the spirit from religion, even if their trends and slogans differ.

The Ministry of Endowments concluded its statement by emphasizing that the crisis of extremists is not a matter of jurisprudential disagreement, but rather a fundamental flaw in the reception of religion itself; The true religious person worships God with love and reverence, and sees beauty in everything God created, while spiritual dryness turns worship into soulless rituals. She pointed out that what the “State of Recitation” program offers Of vocal and spiritual beauty that restores the nation’s fine Qur’anic taste, and at the same time reveals the nature of the trends that are hostile to beauty because they are incapable of tasting it.
