"the job" and"Tourist rooms" They sign a protocol to regulate work permits for foreigners

The Ministry of Labor, headed by Minister Mohamed Gibran, Minister of Labor, signed a joint cooperation protocol with the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, headed by Hossam Salama Gouda El-Shaer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers, as part of the state’s efforts to regulate the conditions of foreign workers and control the labor market within the tourism sector, in order to achieve a balance between the needs of tourist facilities and protecting job opportunities for national workers.

 

This protocol aims to establish an integrated framework for cooperation. between the two parties in the field of issuing and regulating work permits for foreigners working in tourist establishments in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in a way that ensures unification of standards, speeding up procedures, and achieving transparency and accuracy in applying the rules regulating this vital file.

The two sides stressed that the signing of this protocol comes based on the role played by the Ministry of Labor in caring for and developing the workforce and organizing labor relations for Egyptians and foreigners, and from the role played by the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers in supporting the tourism sector, developing the work environment and attracting Investments.

 

The protocol includes a set of main objectives, including unifying the controls for issuing work permits, facilitating the procedures for issuing them until the system is automated electronically, in addition to enhancing the exchange of information and expertise to keep pace with the requirements of the tourism labor market.

 

The protocol also stipulates cooperation between the two parties to establish the rules governing the issuance of permits, provide the necessary technical support, and exchange relevant technical and administrative data and information. Relationship.

 

The Ministry of Labor is committed to issuing a ministerial decision to regulate the implementation of the protocol, issuing work permits to foreign workers for one year, following up on the progress of procedures, and issuing the necessary instructions and recommendations to facilitate cooperation, while coordinating with the union to determine the jobs in which foreigners are allowed to work, in order to preserve the rights and opportunities of Egyptian workers. While the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers is committed to circulating the rules regulating tourist establishments, and cooperating with the ministry in creating a unified digital platform for mechanization. Procedures for submitting applications for permits, and preparing periodic reports showing implementation results and progress rates.

It was also agreed to form a joint committee from both parties to manage and follow up on the implementation of the provisions of the protocol, set time plans and technical, administrative and financial controls, and settle any disputes that may arise in an amicable manner, with full commitment to the confidentiality of information and data exchanged.

This protocol confirms the keenness of the Ministry of Labor and the Egyptian Federation of Tourist Chambers to develop the tourism work system, achieve discipline in the labor market, and support the state’s efforts in developing the tourism sector as one of Pillars of the national economy.
