Mansour bin Zayed witnesses the Zayed Grand Camel Prix 2025 competitions and attends a luncheon hosted by Sultan bin Hamdan

Abu Dhabi, 26 November / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office, witnessed this evening the third day’s competitions for the Zayed Grand Prix for camel racing 2025, which is being held with the participation of thousands of camel horses from the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and continues until the first of next December.

His Highness followed part of the main competitions and runs of the Laqaya category at the Al Wathba Camel Racecourse in Abu Dhabi, which was held for a distance of 5 km, during the evening period, in the Southern Camel Racecourse. His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State and President of the Camel Racing Federation, also witnessed the competitions, along with a number of senior officials and camel owners from within the country and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed honored the sponsors and strategic partners of the Sheikh Zayed Festival, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, and a number of senior officials. His Highness also attended the luncheon hosted by His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan in his council in the Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of an elite group of senior camel owners in the region.

His Highness exchanged friendly conversations with the attendees, where they talked about the importance of camel racing, and the major role of the Zayed Grand Prix for Camel Racing 2025 in consolidating the status of this heritage sport and enhancing its presence, as it is one of the most prominent festivals in the region due to its continuous successes at all levels.

Participants in the competitions appreciated the great support provided by the wise leadership for this authentic, traditional sport, and the valuable prizes it provided that contributed to raising its status, making it one of the most important sports in the country.

The camel owners also expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his continuous follow-up and unlimited support for camel racing, stressing that His Highness’s constant presence in various competitions constituted a great incentive and contributed directly to the development of this sport and the preservation of its ancient heritage.

At the level of competitions, Mana Ali Hammad Al Shamsi’s logo shone on the floor of Al Wathba Square, and Al Namos won, adding to his tally of titles two symbols in the Zayed Grand Prix slam competition this year, and he won the Al Abkar Open and Local Cups through “Al Shaleela” and “Ghayahib”, which shined at the start of the evening period and caught the attention, and it was noteworthy that they achieved the same time in the first and second main halves with a time. 7:15:46 minutes In an incident that does not occur often in the world of camel racing.

“Dana”, its owner, Suhail Saeed Buhaqab Al Shamsi, presented Namos in the third main round after clinching the local Al-Lakaya Al-Abkar Cup in the production category, as she covered the half-distance in a time of 7:18:03 minutes.

“Makhifa”, owned by Ali Suhail Al-Yabhouni Al-Dhaheri, flew with the last symbols of Sin Al-Laqaya, and won the Cup for crossbred virgins in the production category, recording a time of 7:16:08 minutes.
