Al-Azhar: Child molestation is a degenerate crime forbidden by all religions and laws… calling for consideration of increasing its punishment.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif followed with great concern and painful sadness what has been circulated in the news during the recent period of incidents of harassment of our innocent children, violation of their sanctity, and harm to the honor of their families, at the hands of criminal gangs stripped of all meanings of mercy and humanity, and completely disregarding all religious and moral values.

Al-Azhar stressed that this despicable and despicable harassment of innocent children is a crime. Degrading and forbidden by all religions and laws, and disgusting to human taste and human feeling from ancient times until today, it is also a full-fledged crime not only against the child victims and their families, but also against the entire society, because of the horror and fear it spreads in the feelings of families and families, and the physical and psychological harm that inflicts on all family members, in addition to being a heinous crime that contradicts the sound human nature with which God created people with love and compassion for children. And to protect them and preserve their dignity.

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif calls on the legislative bodies to consider increasing the punishment for child molestation to the maximum penalty that contributes to eliminating this crime, and in a way that deters these criminals who have no equal even in the world of jungles and beasts, and to stand on the lookout for the mafia of child molestation gangs, who intend to attack our children and kill their innocence. Dirty pleasure and impure trade in a world of darkness and chaos.

Al-Azhar reminded of the necessity of joining hands to provide psychological support to innocent children who have been subjected to harassment, and to work to rehabilitate them psychologically and socially and help them overcome this deep trauma that they had no control over, and restore their sense of safety and reassurance, and to seek the help of specialists in psychology, sociology, and religious scholars, to restore their confidence in themselves and in society. Around them.

Al-Azhar also called on parents to be more vigilant of their children’s behavior and contain them, to talk to them periodically, and to raise their awareness of the necessity of reporting any strange behavior and disclosing it without fear or shame, and for the state to intervene with decisive legislation to strictly monitor the digital environment that children deal with, to protect them from the danger of electronic exploitation, and from this trade that is forbidden by human, religious and societal responsibility, and for everyone to know that protecting our children and supporting them psychologically is a responsibility. Common to all state institutions; Family, school, media and law.
