Festive "Noun sihar": A year of culture created by young people… and the Governor of Cairo announces the expansion of public libraries

Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, participated today, Friday, in the celebration organized to mark the one-year anniversary of the opening of the “Read Noon Al-Sahar” library. In Nasr City, which is one of the cultural initiatives that provide free reading services to citizens.
The celebration came under the slogan: "A Year of Enlightenment, Thought, Culture, and Creativity".
The governor honored a number of male and female students from Nabawiyya Musa School Winners of the “Book Presentation on Ancient Egyptian Civilization” competition And “Writing an article about the New Egyptian Museum,” as part of the activities of the National Reading Project, and he also honored the members of the jury participating in organizing the competition.
The governor stressed The library represents a practical translation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to expand the establishment of public libraries within neighborhoods, based on his belief in the role of culture in building community awareness and consolidating knowledge among young people, in a way that supports learning and research methods and enhances the general cultural level.
Saber revealed the governorate’s intention to open a new library in Maadi in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Maxim Charitable Foundation, with the aim of providing advanced educational materials and cultural services for all age groups, thus turning public libraries into Centers for intellectual and cultural creativity.
He pointed out that the “Noun Al-Sahar” library It is a successful model of partnership between executive agencies, civil society institutions, and civil society organizations, by providing cultural services that contribute to improving the quality of life for citizens.
The library is located on the Shinzo Abe axis in Nasr City, and extends over an area of 625 square meters, which includes reading rooms for adults with an area of 105 square metres, and others for children with an area of 16 metres, in addition to an outdoor area of 300 square meters used as an open garden. The library includes about 6,000 books in various fields of knowledge.
