An astronomical amount hinders Liverpool’s moves towards sacking Slot

Dutch coach Arne Slot is facing tremendous pressure at the head of Liverpool’s coaching staff, after a series of disastrous defeats that witnessed 3 consecutive losses by 3 goals in all competitions, the last of which was against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

According to English reports, the Reds management has given the coach, who assumed his position in the summer of 2024, a final ultimatum, requiring victory in the next two matches in the English Premier League against West Ham United and Sunderland, otherwise he will be sacked.

If Slot is unable to pass this fateful test, his departure will cost Liverpool about 10 million pounds sterling (more than 11 million euros) in compensation for terminating his contract, which extends until June 2027.

Although this amount is considered small compared to the club’s huge investments, the rapid disposal of Slot will push the English champion into a deep sporting crisis.
