“Dubai Sports Plan 2033” increases the efficiency of clubs and doubles their revenues by 50%

The “Dubai Sports Plan 2033”, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, focused on developing public and private sports clubs and enhancing their efficiency and sustainability, among the basic foundations of the next development stage.
The plan, whose implementation is supervised by the Dubai Sports Council, aims to raise the clubs’ revenues from commercial activities to 50% by 2033, compared to 15% currently, in order to support their ability to achieve self-sufficiency and rely on sustainable financial and commercial resources.
The plan, according to a statement issued by the Dubai Sports Council, includes providing fixed financial and operational support to private clubs worth 20 million dirhams annually, to enhance the development of sports talent, support the societal role, and ensure financial and commercial sustainability, in addition to allocating an additional budget to support small clubs.
Clubs are one of the four main axes of the plan, along with community, talent, and sporting events, as part of efforts to shape the future of the sports sector in Dubai and improve its competitiveness and standing on the global level.
For his part, Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, said that the Council is working according to a long-term vision to develop clubs, support sports and enhance public interaction, indicating that the new financing system will reward government clubs according to their achievements, with a focus on their priorities, requirements and infrastructure, in addition to continuing to provide support to private clubs.
Belhoul stressed that the plan includes launching initiatives to build a professional sports management system, linking funding to clear performance indicators, and enhancing operational control and transparency to ensure the clubs’ sustainability in accordance with strategic goals.
The plan includes developing the club network and directing administrative, technical and commercial spending in a way that ensures the highest levels of efficiency, while providing accurate mechanisms for follow-up and evaluation, in a way that enhances the clubs’ ability to increase their revenues from commercial activities and sponsorship partnerships.
The “Dubai Sports Plan 2033” embodies the Dubai Sports Council’s commitment to promoting a sustainable model for clubs and providing a supportive environment for talent, which will advance the future of sports in Dubai and enhance its position among the most prominent sports cities in the world.
