The Mufti of the Republic receives the Minister of Youth and Sports to discuss enhancing joint cooperation

Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, Mufti of the Republic, received today, Sunday, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports. To discuss aspects of enhancing joint cooperation between the Egyptian House of Fatwa and the Ministry of Youth and Sports with regard to youth issues, instilling awareness, and confronting negative societal phenomena. The future, driving the locomotive of development, and conscious openness to the times, expressing the full readiness of the Egyptian House of Fatwa to cooperate with the Ministry in implementing joint programs, workshops, and meetings directed at youth.

 

The Mufti of the Republic indicated that the House of Fatwa possesses a broad research and scientific system that serves this goal; Pointing to the efforts of the Imam Al-Layth bin Saad Center for the Jurisprudence of Coexistence, which represents an important arm of the Fatwa House in promoting the concept of citizenship and highlighting the high-quality models of coexistence witnessed in Islamic history.

 

Noting that the center works according to a deep methodological vision based on a conscious reading of heritage and aims to provide a cognitive model capable of addressing the challenges of the era and creating a common awareness among followers of religions and cultures, in addition to unity. “Dialogue” Which plays a pivotal role in dismantling intellectual suspicions and responding to extremist deviations, through solid knowledge production based on a careful study of contemporary intellectual contexts, and presents a scientific discourse that reflects the moderation of Islam and contributes to protecting public awareness and enhancing the ability to confront destructive ideas with a balanced and institutional discourse, then the Salam Center for Studies of Extremism and Confronting Islamophobia, which addresses the phenomenon of extremism from a comprehensive research and analytical perspective, and presents initiatives to build a correct image of Islam at home and abroad, in addition to the Global Fatwa Index. Issued by Dar Al-Iftaa, which is an international mechanism for monitoring and analyzing fatwa trends around the world, which contributes to promoting rational fatwa and confronting the chaos of fatwas.

 

The Mufti explained that Dar Al-Masria pays great attention to disseminating knowledge and addressing many societal issues through solid scientific publications such as the Family Encyclopedia and the Youth Fatwa Book, which provides answers to all the questions that are on the minds of young people, touching on training management and whatnot. It provides training programs for muftis and researchers inside and outside Egypt, pointing to the wide spread of Dar Al-Iftaa on social media platforms, whose followers have exceeded 14.5 million, which enhances its ability to reach young people and provide meaningful content, in addition to expanding the establishment of branches in the governorates to provide rational fatwas to citizens.

 

 

For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed His deep appreciation for His Eminence the Mufti of the Republic, and for the great efforts made by Dar Al-Iftaa in serving issues of thought and awareness, noting the Ministry’s keenness to strengthen institutional cooperation with Dar Al-Iftaa due to its extensive scientific experience and influential ability to address young people, pointing out that enhancing awareness represents a strategic goal shared by all state institutions.

 

 Stressing the Ministry’s aspiration to launch specific programs and joint initiatives that benefit from Dar Al-Iftaa’s efforts. The fatwa aims to correct concepts, address negative phenomena, and build a young, conscious personality capable of contributing to the nation’s renaissance. The two sides also agreed to hold workshops and coordination meetings to propose joint work programs and establish executive mechanisms for joint cooperation during the coming period.
