المملكة: Closing an illegal ice cream production factory inside a residential site in Jeddah


Jeddah Municipality announced the seizure and closure of an illegal factory within the municipality of Buriman, whose workers exploited it to prepare and prepare ice cream inside a residential site, in a practice that is considered one of the prohibited activities and in violation of health and regulatory requirements.

The General Director of Monitoring and Addressing Negative Phenomena, Yasser bin Siraj Bakhsh, explained that the campaign comes within the ongoing efforts to address municipal violations and reduce negative phenomena, which resulted in the seizure of an ice cream processing site – Ice cream – in random ways, lacking health controls, with a low level of cleanliness of the tools used and poor preservation of the materials, adding that the control teams confiscated all the seized items before distributing them to the shops.

Food and Drug Authority

Bakhsh stated that The Food and Drug General Authority initiated the incident and took the necessary measures in accordance with its jurisdiction, while the Breman Sub-Municipality closed the facility due to the lack of a valid municipal license.

The Jeddah Municipality confirmed the continuation of its monitoring campaigns in cooperation with the relevant authorities, to address negative phenomena and limit practices that pose a threat to public health, stressing the implementation of the list of penalties and fines against violators.
