After a struggle with illness.. the passing of a famous artist

British artist Sandra Caron, star of the films Carry On and The Crystal Maze, died at the age of 89 in Los Angeles, after six weeks in the hospital, of natural causes, her family announced.

Caron was born in 1936 in Stepney, London, and grew up with her older sister Alma Coogan, a British star of the 1950s and 1960s. She studied at the Ida Foster Theater School, and adopted the nickname “Caron” in honor of the French actress Leslie Caron.

Her career has been marked by appearances in television productions such as Z Cars, Dixon of Dock Green, The Odd Couple, and Charlie’s Angels, as well as films such as The Belles of St Trinian’s, Dracula, and The Bliss of Mrs Blossom.

She became internationally famous for her role as “Mumsie”, the mysterious fortune teller on Channel 4’s The Crystal Maze between 1990 and 1993, and later returned to her role as “Aunt Sabrina”. Her last appearance was in 1995 in the movie Agony Again.

Caron married American actor Brian Greene in 1985. They did not have children, and Brian’s son, Mark, announced the news of her death. (my lady)
