Ibrahim Hassan: We will send the final team list to the African Nations on December 11
Ibrahim Hassan, director of the first Egyptian national football team, confirmed that the final list of the Pharaohs participating in the 2025 African Cup of Nations will be officially sent to the African Union on the 11th of December, according to the technical controls set by the technical staff led by Captain Hossam Hassan.
The national team director explained that the first phase of preparations will begin with an open camp on December 3, followed by a closed camp starting on the 7th of this month. The same month, before playing the important friendly match against the Nigerian national team on the fourteenth of December at Cairo International Stadium, an experience that the technical staff sees as an essential step to test the readiness of the players before traveling.
The national team’s delegation leaves for Morocco on the seventeenth of December to enter the atmosphere of the tournament that will be held during the period from the twenty-first of December until the eighteenth of next January, amid great aspirations to achieve distinguished participation.
The Egyptian national team begins its journey in the group stage. On the twenty-second of December, they will face Zimbabwe, then they will meet South Africa on the twenty-sixth of the same month, concluding their matches in this round by facing Angola on the twenty-ninth of December, in confrontations on which the Egyptian fans have high hopes for a return to the podium.
The technical staff announced the initial list for the December camp, which included the most prominent local and professional players. The goalkeepers were: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Ahmed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Schubert, and Mohamed Sobhi. In the defense line: Mohamed Hani, Ahmed Eid, Rami Rabia, Khaled Sobhi, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Ismail, Hossam Abdel Majeed, Mohamed Hamdy, and Ahmed Fattouh.
And in the middle: Marwan Attia, Hamdi Fathi, Muhannad Lashin, Mahmoud Saber, Mohamed Shehata, Emam Ashour, Ahmed Sayed Zizo, Mahmoud Trezeguet, Ibrahim Adel, Mustafa Fathi, Omar. Marmoush, and Mohamed Salah. In the attack: Mustafa Mohamed, Salah Mohsen, and Osama Faisal.
The technical staff, led by Hossam Hassan, continues to monitor the players’ performance during the coming period before deciding the final list that will be approved in the continental championship, amid intense preparations to ensure they appear in a manner befitting the history of Egyptian football and the aspirations of the fans.
