Health closes 8 unlicensed addiction treatment centers in Shorouk City

The Ministry of Health and Population closed 8 addiction treatment and psychiatric centers in Shorouk City for practicing the activity without a license and violating health and legal requirements, which endangers the lives of inmates.
The campaign was implemented by a joint committee that included the Free Treatment Department of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Cairo, the General Secretariat of Mental Health, and the National Council for Mental Health, in coordination with the General Administration for Drug Control at the Ministry of Interior, and all legal measures were taken regarding it. Violators.
The closed centers are:
• Dar Amal Center for Addiction Treatment (Detox)
• Dar Amal Center for Addiction Treatment (Half Way)
• New Hope Addiction Treatment Center
• New Leaf Addiction Treatment Center (Detox and Half Way)
• Newlife Edema Treatment Center
• Step Bedaya Center for Addiction Treatment
• New Life Center for Addiction Treatment
Dr. Hisham Zaki, Head of the Central Administration for Non-Governmental Treatment Institutions and Licensing, confirmed the continuation of sudden oversight campaigns nationwide to ensure that all facilities adhere to quality and patient safety standards.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Nahhas, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Council, stressed The National Council for Mental Health said that the violations included working without a license, violating the laws on medical facilities and mental health, and not implementing infection control requirements and environmental controls.
