cooperation "Egyptian – Swedish" In the field of safety of materials in contact with food
Dr. Tariq Al-Houbi, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, received a delegation from an international Swedish company in Egypt, in the presence of Ambassador Dag Julander, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden in Cairo.
The meeting came with the aim of discussing the challenges facing the company with regard to safety requirements for materials in contact with food, and standards for handling private label foods, in addition to discussing ways to facilitate compliance with the technical controls applied in the market. Al-Hobi reviewed the Authority’s efforts to develop the food safety system and modernize regulatory procedures, in line with international best practices. Mechanisms for supporting factories supplying the company to ensure that their products comply with national and international requirements were also discussed.
The Swedish Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the existing cooperation between the Authority and Swedish companies operating in Egypt in the food industries sector, stressing his embassy’s support for strengthening this cooperation in a way that serves common interests.
The Chairman of the Authority stressed Its full readiness to provide technical support to companies operating in the Egyptian market, and to strengthen partnerships that contribute to raising the quality of products and protecting citizen health.
