A swimmer died suddenly during the Republic Championships

The star of the Egyptian Al-Zohour Club, the budding swimmer, Youssef Mohamed (12 years old), died suddenly on Tuesday, after suffering a severe fainting.
Youssef suffered a severe fainting episode while participating in the U-12 Republic Championship competitions currently being held in the swimming pool complex at Cairo International Stadium. Despite first aid attempts and immediate transport, he died.
The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Swimming Federation mourned the emerging player, declaring mourning for 3 days.
While everyone awaits additional details about the medical reasons that led to the sudden illness of the young player at the height of his sporting activity, attention is turning to the importance of careful medical reviews for young athletes, and this tragedy is a call to consider safety procedures and the availability of immediate medical care in major sports complexes.
According to Egyptian media, the player had fallen into the water immediately after starting the 50-meter backstroke race, where lifeguards and an ambulance crew immediately intervened to save him, before he was given first aid inside the complex, and then transported by ambulance to Dar Al-Fouad Hospital next to the stadium, but he died as a result of his condition.
