Al Wasl is the overall champion in the Emirates Open Water Cup

Al Wasl Club won the overall title in the general category in the Federation Cup Open Water Championship for juniors and generals, which was held at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, after topping the points table with 102 points. Fujairah Club came in second place with 43 points, then Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club third with 40 points.

The tournament, which was held with wide participation from clubs and swimmers, witnessed remarkable brilliance in various age groups. In the general category, swimmer Omar Ahmed Khader from Al Wasl Club caught the spotlight after being crowned the best swimmer in the category, following an exceptional performance he presented throughout the race.

In the Sunni categories, Fujairah Club continued its strong presence, as swimmer Omar Muhammad Abu Zaid was crowned the best swimmer for the 14-year-old stage, while his colleague Muhammad Ali Al-Yamahi won the title of best swimmer for the 15-16 year-old stage after intense competition witnessed in this category.

In terms of the overall standings for the 14-year-old stage for juniors, Fujairah Club came in first place, Al Wasl Club came in second, and then Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club came in third. In the 16-year stage, Al Wasl Club achieved a strong lead with 76 points, followed by Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club with 66 points, then Fujairah Club third with 65 points.

In the junior competitions, the general ranking was announced, which was led by Al Wasl Club with 150 points, followed by Al Fujairah Club in second place with 147 points, then Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club in third place with 94 points, in competitions that reflected an advanced level of development and preparation in the participating clubs.

The tournament also witnessed the honoring of technical competencies, as Captain Mubarak Al-Mas won the title of best coach for the junior stage in recognition of his efforts in developing talents, while Captain Marwan Al-Hattawi won the title of best coach for the general category after his clear impact on his team’s results.
