The Jordanian national team defeats Kuwaiti Blue and qualifies for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup

The Jordanian national team joined its Saudi counterpart in the second round of the Arab Cup “Qatar 2025”, after achieving a well-deserved victory over its Kuwaiti counterpart, 3-1, today, Saturday, to strengthen its lead in the third group and seal its qualification without waiting for the result of its last match against the Egyptian national team scheduled for next Tuesday.
Muhannad Mahmoud scored one of the most beautiful goals of the tournament, after a free ball passed to him by Yazan Al-Naimat, and he fired a missile shot from outside the penalty area, announcing Al-Nashama’s lead in the 17th minute.
The players of Moroccan coach Jamal Al-Salami continued their offensive pressure, as Mahmoud Al-Mardi almost added the second goal after a dangerous shot from inside the six-yard area, but Al-Qaim intervened and prevented the Jordanian team from widening the gap.
In the second half, Saad Al-Rousan increased the score after he took advantage of the Kuwaiti defense’s mistake in clearing the ball, and shot a powerful shot in the 49th minute, giving Jordan the advantage with greater comfort.
It was the turn of Jordanian national team star Ali Alwan to score a third goal following a new defensive error, before video technology intervened to cancel the goal due to offside.
Seven minutes before the end, the Kuwaiti striker, Youssef Nasser, increased the excitement of the match, by scoring a goal to reduce the difference from a header that landed to the left of the goalkeeper (84), but Ali Alwan did not give the Kuwaiti team a chance to catch its breath, as he launched a lightning counterattack and penetrated the back lines of the Blue, before obtaining a penalty kick that he successfully executed (90 + 7).
With this loss, the Kuwaiti team’s balance froze at one point.
