At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister pointed out the huge amount of rumors that spread on social media on a daily basis, in addition to the amount of fake news published by foreign media hostile to the Egyptian state, and promoted as facts; With the aim of creating confusion in society, he pointed out that the state is working to combat these rumors and fake news through specific mechanisms for this purpose,   Within a strategy that various state agencies and concerned parties cooperate in implementing, the most important of which is publishing the correct facts and data, but there must be a stand against those who deliberately harm the Egyptian state.

In light of this, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly explained that we welcome any criticism directed at government performance, and there are various criticisms published in this regard; Whether on social media or the media, we discuss and interact with them, and there is great concern for that, but here we mean the persistent attempts to undermine confidence in the national economy, especially in light of the many positive indicators during this period, giving a number of examples of what is published on social media, which illustrate the extent of the fallacies and lies that aim to cause confusion in society.

The Prime Minister added: Despite the efforts made by the various government agencies in responding to everything that It is raised in this regard, but deterrent measures must be taken against those who deliberately fabricate false facts and spread false news aimed at harming the national economy.

  During the meeting, Dr. Osama Al-Gohary, Assistant to the Prime Minister, Head of the Information and Decision Support Center, reviewed the features of the “digital platform.” For the Media Center of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which relies on advanced artificial intelligence technologies; To help verify the authenticity of the published news, by conducting a “guaranteed analysis” In a few seconds for any published news, or published image, and give the result with high accuracy, indicating that the platform is currently in the trial operation phase, and will be launched soon.

 Counselor Muhammad Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting witnessed a discussion of the efforts of the ministries and concerned authorities in confronting rumors, especially the ministries of Endowments, Interior, Communications and Information Technology, in addition to the efforts of the Ministry of Youth and Sports regarding the establishment of a unit. "Confront with us" To confront the challenges related to rumours, as well as the efforts of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, the National Press Authority, and the National Media Authority.

The official spokesman said: The meeting also witnessed confirmation that the current laws contain many penalties sufficient to confront “crimes of spreading false news.” Through various media outlets, as well as through social media, which would cause harm to society, or to the public interest of the state, which achieves the required deterrence.

The official spokesman added: It was agreed during the meeting to activate the work of agencies monitoring rumors and fake news on various websites and social media, and to take direct legal measures. Increased penalties will also be discussed against anyone who deliberately offends society and harms the national economy by spreading lies and fabricating fabricated facts. It was agreed to unify the efforts of all ministries, agencies and concerned authorities in the state in confronting the various rumors spread through some different media and social media, through an integrated national strategy to confront lies and rumours, with the need to agree on executive procedures and tools to measure the results of these procedures.
