Norris wins the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship and deprives Verstappen of a fifth consecutive title

Briton Lando Norris, driver of McLaren, won the World Drivers’ Championship for the first time in his career, depriving Dutchman Max Verstappen, driver of Red Bull, of winning the fifth title in a row.

Norris clinched the title after coming third in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in the final round of the current season, ahead of his teammate, Australian driver Oscar Piastri, in second place.

Verstappen, who started from pole, won the 58-lap Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
