المملكة: King Saud Medical City… saving a patient whose heart stopped for 25 minutes


A medical team was able to King Saud Medical City Member Riyadh First Health Center saved the life of a patient in his fourth decade after his heart suddenly stopped, in a critical condition that required an immediate, highly accurate response.

The patient arrived at the emergency department without a pulse, where the team began implementing the Cardiopulmonary resuscitation for 25 continuous minutes until blood circulation was successfully restored.

After initial stabilization, he was transferred directly to the Heart Health Center to undergo an urgent cardiac catheterization that contributed to restoring perfusion and saving the heart muscle.

Therapeutic Journey

After the therapeutic intervention, the patient was admitted to cardiac intensive care, where his treatment journey continued for 55 days under close follow-up by the cardiology, critical care, and nursing teams. During which there was a gradual improvement in vital indicators and organ functions.

In a humanitarian gesture that reflects the spirit of care, the Heart Health Center celebrated the patient after his improvement and exit from the critical stage, where the medical team met with him and congratulated him for overcoming the difficult treatment journey, stressing that his success represents an incentive to enhance advanced clinical practices and embodies the value of teamwork within the city.

Intensive treatment period

Thanks to God, and then the efforts of the medical team, the patient regained consciousness and was able to stand. The patient proceeded after an intensive treatment period, an achievement that reflects the readiness of the cardiac care system at King Saud Medical City and its ability to deal with complex cases according to the highest standards of quality and rapid response.

King Saud Medical City confirmed that this case represents a model of integration between emergency, cardiac and critical care services, and enhances its reference role in saving patients’ lives with the highest levels of efficiency.
