The judo team leads the African Youth Games after winning 14 medals

The Egyptian judo team succeeded in winning 14 various medals during the African Youth Games competitions held in Angola during the period from 10 to 20 December this year.
The Pharaohs team won 5 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals, so that the team achieved first place among the players and first overall ranking among the female players, while being in first place in the standings. The gold medals were won by Ali Al Ramli in the 81 kg competition, Abdul Rahman Al Fayoumi first place and the gold medal in the 90 kg competition, Zain Abu Shama first place and the gold medal in the 90 kg competition, Yasmine Muhammad Ali first place and the gold medal in the 70 kg competition, and Ayten Daoud first place in the 70 kg competition. kg.
Silver medals were won by Shorouk Ayman in the 40 kg competition, Salsabil Muhammad in the 44 kg competition, Shorouk Ahmed Abbas in the 48 kg competition, and Dalida Basil Al-Gharabai in the 63 kg competition.
The bronze medals were won and Mahmoud Haitham placed third in the 50 kg competition. Ismail Mohamed in the 55 kg competition, Adam Sharif in the 60 kg competition, Malek El Naggar in the 66 kg competition, and Mazen Hatem in the 73 kg competition.
Mohamed Moati, President of the Egyptian Judo Federation, said that the judo team achieved first place in the African Games in Angola 2025, which qualifies for the Youth Olympics to be held in Dakar 2026. And by sweeping the first men’s and first women’s and first overall rankings, he extended his thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian state headed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his constant support for Egyptian sports and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, for the support available to the federation, which contributed to achieving positive results and a major boom during the last period.
The president of the Egyptian Judo Federation added that the federation is moving at a steady pace and working to achieve all the goals that were set since the beginning of the season in order to reach the greatest dream in Los Angeles 2028 Olympics to achieve the status that Egyptian sports deserve on the world stage.
The Olympic Committee is participating in a symbolic delegation that includes about seven sports, as part of the state’s support for promising champions and preparing a generation capable of competing in various continental and international forums.
The sports in which the Egyptian delegation is participating include: weapons – Athletics – Badminton – taekwondo – judo – Table tennis – Beach volleyball.
The Egyptian delegation includes 127 individuals, including 86 male and female players representing various games, in addition to 24 individuals from the technical, administrative and medical staff.
This edition is of special importance because it qualifies for the “Dakar 2026” Youth Olympic Games, which gives the participating teams a real opportunity. To reserve seats in the largest youth sports forum in the world, and to increase the strength of competition between countries.
