Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, chairs an expanded meeting in the governorate’s central operations room, located within the control center of the National Emergency and Public Safety Network, to follow up on the measures and facilitations taken by the governorate for the runoff round in the 2025 House of Representatives elections, which began at nine in the morning today and will be held throughout the days of December 17 and 18.

 

 

He confirmed The Governor of Cairo said that there is a complete connection between the central operations room and all parties concerned with the electoral process, explaining that the role of the governorate is limited to providing the necessary logistical support to facilitate the conduct of the elections.

The governor indicated that all electoral headquarters in the capital are ready to receive voters in the runoff, as the number of voters in Cairo is about 3 million, 531 thousand and 498 voters, distributed among 7 general committees that include 298 subcommittees within 132 electoral centers, during which candidates compete for the vote. 10 seats.

 

 

He explained that the runoff round is being held in the southern, northern and eastern regions of Cairo, while the results for the seats in the western region were decided in the first round.

 

 

The governor of Cairo indicated that the southern region includes 71 electoral centers with 150 sub-committees, and the region The northern region includes 23 electoral centers with 66 subcommittees, while the eastern region includes 38 electoral centers with 82 subcommittees.

 

 

He added that the runoff includes ten seats distributed among several districts, including the third, fifth, tenth, eleventh, fifteenth, seventeenth, and nineteenth districts, according to what was not decided in the round. The first.

 

 

The governor stressed the continued follow-up around the clock of the electoral process, and the provision of all necessary facilities for citizens to cast their votes easily and conveniently.

The governor of Cairo called on citizens to participate positively and go to the ballot boxes, to show the civilized face of the Egyptian state, and to exercise their constitutional right, stressing that participation in the elections is a national duty and a basic pillar of the democratic path.
