Zahra Al Hashemi decorates the Emirati “weightlifting” with two “bronzes” in “West Asia”

The national weightlifting team launched its participation in the West Asian Championship in Doha, winning two bronze medals for the national team and Abu Dhabi club player, Zahra Al Hashemi, in the 53 kg weight category.

The national team will participate in the West Asian and Arab Championships and the Qatar Cup, for the junior, youth and adult categories, in Doha, which will conclude tomorrow.

Al Hashemi said in press statements: “Winning two bronze medals in the championship is a strong motivation towards more achievements for the team, with the support of the Federation’s Board of Directors and the Abu Dhabi Weightlifting Club.”

For his part, Abu Dhabi Club Executive Director, Nasser Khamis Al Muhairbi, said: “The player, Zahra Al Hashemi, presented a strong performance in the tournament, which was crowned by obtaining two bronze medals.”

In turn, member of the Federation’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Technical Committee, Hamad Jumaa Al-Ajmi, described winning the two bronze medals as “a motivating start for the national team’s players at the junior, youth and adult levels, especially as it witnesses strong competition from 20 countries, in addition to the important value it represents in enhancing the national teams’ competitive experience gains.”
